The Country Boys continue to grow, mature, and master new skills. Little teeth are sprouting and tiny tongues are lapping mashed puppy food in their goat milk formula. The mixture is still rather soupy while they adjust to eating solid foods in their goat milk. Gradually, I will begin to apply less milk until their is none but will still moisten dry puppy kibble but not mash it. By Adoption Day, the puppies will be crunching on dry puppy kibble. Little personalities are beginning to develop. At five weeks Finale is teaching her pups how to be dogs. She is asserting herself as the leader of their pack, using discipline as needed. The boys continue to learn appropriate social behavior with each other and will soon learn the art of bite inhibition. As the bite inhibition stage progresses the adorable puppy sounds in the pen will change to "house of horors" screaming. After a week or so of squealing and shrieking, they finally figure out that biting hurts and learn to play-bite. Then there is peace in the home once again.
